DiGiorgio Family Wines is a family owned winery right in the heart of Coonawarra. The winery had been known since the early 1950’s as Rouge Homme and holds enormous importance within the “winescape” of Australia.
The Winery is renowned for the production of Jimmy Watson trophy winning wines and received numerous other awards for its wines.
The DiGiorgio Family became the proud owners of the second oldest winery in Coonawarra on Friday March 15, 2002. This has provided the family with a wonderful production facility and a centrally located cellar door in Coonawarra. It has a blend of new and old technology allowing the family to produce premium hand crafted wines.
The DiGiorgio Family has left no stone unturned in their pursuit of excellence in viticulture at their Lucindale and Coonawarra vineyards in the Limestone Coast which is highly regarded for their production of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. The family believes that you cannot make great wine from ordinary grapes. The commitment to lower yields and fruit flavours is the secret to the production of their range of wines.
In accordance with the original philosophy to produce premium wines and to market them in optimum drinking condition, the DiGiorgio Family Wines range receives considerable bottle aging prior to release in order to exhibit greater complexity and harmony of all elements.
