LOST TURTLE PINOT NOIR

We are very excited to bring you the Lost Turtle 2010 Pinot Noir. Sibling to the very popular and delightful Lost Turtle Sauvignon Blanc released earlier this year.   Made from grapes sourced from select vineyards in the Alexander region of Central Otago. Aromatics are driven by dark plum fruit and earthy spicy chocolate notes.  The palate is subtle yet juicy, with rich ripe fruit and fine tannins that give great length.  A personal favourite amongst the office team, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!

Estate Wines are very proud to bring you two new and different ranges of Greek Wines. Worshipped as a gift from above more than 4000 years ago, today wine remains an inseperable part of Greek life, and two modern day producers are leading the charge. Plenty of sunshine and a low average rainfall combine to create an excellent environment for the production of high quality wines throughout Greece. In recent years, the Greek wine industry has undergone tremendous improvementswith serious investments made in modern winemaking technology. Lafazani & Alpha Estate are two Greek wineries responsible for the local industries sucess, and these new generation producers of fine wines are taking the world by storm.

Lafazanis new winery in Ancient Cleones currently covers approximately 4,000 square feet with a capacity of over 5,000 tons of wine and is the most prestigious plants in the region.  The winery is surroundeed by vineyards, young and old, at a height of 300-450 metres planted with Agiorgitiko", the "vibrant" variety with the potential to produce wines in a wide variety of types and styles which give the wine Nemea OPAP. The vines are combined with French noble varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon making it possible to include in our range some of the most striking and modern Greek premium wines .

Located in the Amyndeon region in north-west Greece, Alpha Estate is the brainchild of second-generation grape grower Makis Mavridis and winemaker Aggelos Iatridis. The importance of terroir lies at the heart of the estate’s winemaking philosophy. Both men make it their mission to craft wines that bring out the true characteristics of the region they originate from, wines that reveal the characteristics of the soil, the climate and the grape varieties.

 ALPHA ESTATE WINES

ALPHA ESTATE received top ratings by the internationally renowned wine journalist Robert Parker (reviewed by Mark Squires) of Wine Advocate and eRobertParker.com. According to the leading wine author, in a most recent review of the Greek vineyard, two ALPHA ESTATE’s labels received the highest ratings ever given to any Greek red wine labels.  Each received a rating of 90 – 92, characterised as “outstanding” and “young”, showing, on one side qualitative supremacy and personality and on the other side the ageing potential for the two labels, which, for the journalist, can be 2022 for Alpha Estate Red and 2024 for Alpha Xinomavro Old Vines.

This international recognition seals the passport for Alpha Estate wines and their entrance in the league of international big wines and naturally certifies the continuous upcoming and recognizable quality of Greek wines.   ALPHA ESTATE received for a second consecutive year the highest reviews given to any Greek red wine labels by the internationally renowned wine journalist Robert Parker (reviewed by Mark Squires) of Wine Advocate and eRobertParker.com. According to the leading wine author, in a most recent review of the Greek vineyard, six ALPHA ESTATE’s labels achieved ratings at the category 90-95. The top 3 of the list is occupied by 3 Alpha Estate wines and 11 Alpha Estate labels and recent vintages are included in the 18 Greek labels that in total achieved ratings of 90 points and above.
